SB Interview: Yves makes her first appearance in Brazil and talks about the future of her career

Davis Brito

Singer Yves, known for her talent and charisma, arrived in Brazil for her long-awaited concert, which took place on April 11 at the VIP Station in São Paulo. The announcement of the show thrilled fans, who packed the venue to see the artist on her first solo tour in the country. With a lively audience and significant sales, the event marked Yves’ debut on Brazilian soil with a bang.

Anyone who has followed the artist since her solo debut, with the hit “New”, has witnessed her artistic evolution, now consolidated in works such as the singles “Loop” and “Diorama” and her latest mini-album. Her fans, both those who have been with her since the days of LOONA and new admirers, packed the concert in São Paulo, proving that her talent transcends borders and generations.

The performance in São Paulo, part of her “2025 YVES APPLE CINNAMON CRUNCH TOUR”, was a proper mixture of emotions: from the classics that made her famous to the new tracks that show her musical maturity. Yves also surprised us with charismatic interactions, thanking the crowd in Portuguese and with a contagious energy that made it clear how much she values her Brazilian audience.

Before the show, the star gave an exclusive interview in which she talked about her career, new projects, and the special connection with her fans in Brazil. Check out the full text:

SB: This is your first time in Brazil, and we’d love to know your expectations for the Brazilian audience.

Yves: My expectations of Brazil are high. I’ve always been told that Latin American fans are the best because they have a surreal energy.

SB: Last year, Chuu and ARTMS performed here in Brazil. Did you have a chance to meet them and ask for any advice?

Yves: I met Chuu several times, and she told me that she had spent a long time feeling lonely, as she was used to being surrounded by other people. That's why she strongly recommended that I bring various hobbies for me to enjoy. So I brought some books and other things to clear my head.

SB: We’d like to know which of your non-title-track songs is your favorite? And which one do you most enjoy performing?

Yves: I like the song “#Hashtag” so much that I suggested to the company that it should be the title song. But during the shows, I really like performing “See You in Hell” because I can hear the fans singing the song very well, and it makes the experience even better.

SB: You debuted as a member of LOONA with the title song “New”. Now that you’re pursuing a solo career, what would you say is different from that time?

Yves: As I didn’t have the training part at the beginning as a soloist, I felt very nervous and maybe even unprepared, but little by little, I gained a lot of confidence, and nowadays I can say that I feel more prepared and confident.

SB: Which artist was your main inspiration? And who would you most like to collaborate with?

Yves: I’m inspired by many artists. In terms of music, Caroline Polacheck is one of them, but in terms of stage performance, Kaehla is another one from whom I take a lot of inspiration.

Note: It is worth remembering that the artist has said on several occasions that she likes other artists such as PinkPantheress and SZA.

SB: What kind of music would you like to explore on your next album?

Yves: I’ve already tried to make some songs in a more house style, so I think I’m going to explore other styles that I haven’t yet in K-pop and make it even more Yves. A new style!

SB: Now that you’re in Brazil, have you had the chance to try any Brazilian dishes? If so, what did you like best? If not, what would you like to try?

Yves: I really love açaí! I like to eat it at every concert.

Note: As the artist herself asked for recommendations, we also took the opportunity to recommend other dishes to her, such as guaraná, churrasco, and pão de queijo. We hope she tried them all.

With a night full of hits, electrifying performances, and emotional moments, Yves not only won the hearts of Brazilians but also proved that her talent goes far beyond traditional K-pop. Her connection with the public, her affection for her fans, and her desire to explore new musical horizons make it clear: this is just the first page of a promising career.

While fans relive the best moments of the concert on social media, one thing is for sure: Brazil is already eagerly awaiting her return!
