[LOONATHEWORLD] in Seoul Photobook - Q&A Interviews

Heejin

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

I was so proud of the fact that so many people loved us from many countries! The unfortunate thing was, given the tight schedule, I couldn’t pour out 100% of my energy every day…? But I think my stamina still has gotten much better.

Was there any fun moment that you think would be worthwhile to share with Orbits?

One time I locked myself out while putting out the room service [tray] that I ate. But Lip unnie just happened to be in the shower at the time so I was locked out in the hallway for a while…

While on tour, were there any locations or dishes that left an impression on you?

I had no idea that Amsterdam was such a cool place! If I ever get a chance, I definitely want to go again with Orbits.

The members set up a surprise birthday event onstage during the last day of the Seoul concert. How was that?

I was so surprised, as I really had not expected the surprise party. Those voices of Orbits singing Happy Birthday to me! I can’t forget it. I was really happy in that moment ❤️

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

I thought that after the tour ended I would order delivery for all the Korean food that I had been missing, but I think I just slept for three days.

Hyunjin

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

The most satisfying thing was the tickets selling out! Unfortunate thing was how we didn’t go as the full group.

You showed a surprising talent on <LOONA GOT TALENT>. Are there any talents that you haven’t shown yet, or any talents that you’re polishing, or another member’s talent that you wish you had?

I don’t think there’s a particular talent I haven’t shown off yet. From other members… I want Choerry’s talent. The fascinating one where she doesn’t blink!

In the Seoul concert you showed your solo stage for the first time in a long time, and you must have felt improved compared to before.

I definitely don’t get as nervous and I think my vocal skills have grown compared to before. (Hahaha) And now I can even smile in a relaxed way.

Were there any unforgettable events or messages from the fans?

When we do concerts, fans hold slogan events, and each time it touches me to the point that tears well up… That’s an event I want to keep seeing for the rest of my life❤️

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

I wanted to interact with lots of Orbits and have a good time with them through the tour, and I liked that it turned out that way. More than anything it was a relief to finish the tour healthily! I want to keep seeing even more Orbits more often❤️ Orbits are the best~❤️ I love you-sha~❤️

Haseul

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

I was most satisfied by being able to meet Orbits who are living abroad and doing our show together. One unfortunate thing was not being able to participate in the dances at the final four cities due to my shoulder.

It must have felt different filling up the stage doing performances with the group during the tour, then doing solo stages at the Seoul concert.

Doing a solo ballad after having done mostly dance songs was very nerve-wracking.

What do you think are the charms of both the solo performance that you showed at the beginning of your debut, and the solo that you showed once again?

Should I say that I’ve gotten a little more seasoned at it? However I got nervous all the same…

If you were to plan a concert, is there a stage that you would definitely want to include?

At the end, I want to sing <365> with Orbits without instrumentals.

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

I was touched by how people enjoyed it vastly more than I had imagined, and because they sang along.

Yeojin

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

I was most satisfied by fans enjoying the solo stage I showed at the Seoul concert, but I was upset about how I couldn’t take off my dress skirt in a pretty way.

Is there anything that happened during the tour that seems worthwhile to share with Orbits?

I remember that I overslept and didn’t get to go to Universal Studios as I planned.

Having shown your solo stage for the first time in a while, I think you would’ve felt that you’ve improved compared to yourself in the past.

While re-recording this time, I felt that my voice had changed a lot since 6 years ago.

At this Seoul concert, including the solo stage outfit, you showed five new outfits - did you have a favorite among these?

Solo stage outfit. I like it because it included the most of my own ideas.

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

I was even happier than that. I got really overwhelmed and the tears didn’t stop.

Vivi

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

Despite being so far away Orbits abroad have always sent us lots of love and support, so I was most satisfied by us being able to go to them in person on tour and meet many Orbits. The most unfortunate part was that it wasn’t as a full group!

In the last concert many Orbits complimented Vivi’s bangs. Is there any style from those you’ve done before that you liked the most, or any hairstyles that you’d like to try?

I like new things so I want to try short or platinum blonde hair.

During the tour you filled the stage as a group, but at the Seoul concert you showed solo stages - that must have felt different.

It did feel a little empty. However there is another kind of nervous excitement about performing a solo stage.

I think Korean Orbits were really moved when you said that you could go abroad because there were Orbits in Korea. If LOONA were to ever hold a solo concert where you’re from, Hong Kong, is there anything you’d like to tell the Hong Kong Orbits?

If LOONA were to have a concert in Hong Kong it would be so fascinating, and I would be so happy. I would like to say “Hong Kong Orbits must’ve waited for a long time too, thank you for always supporting us and for waiting!”

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

I heard that there were very many Orbits abroad and that their reactions are good, so I was nervous and excited as I went, but my imagination was too limited. (haha) The passion and love from Orbits abroad burned even hotter than I thought. The thought came to me that they had waited a really long time. It was so fun and I think I had an even happier time.

Kim Lip

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

I was satisfied that I got to meet many Orbits abroad, but I’m sorry about not being able to meet even more international Orbits in other cities.

Showing your solo stage to Orbits for the first time in a while, were there any differences compared to your previous solo stage?

For three minutes I felt more relaxed than how I was before, and was performing while looking at Orbits.

Was there any song or performance that you were disappointed that you couldn't show Orbits during this tour?

New unit stages? :)

As the members said, your <Eclipse> performance this time showed a charm that was much more matured. Is there anything you’d like to attempt with your improved capabilities?

A new solo song to call “the second <Eclipse>”? 🥰

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

I didn’t think I would cry, but I did end up crying.

Jinsoul

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

I was happy that we got to finally experience the overseas tour, which was delayed for years due to COVID. However it was unfortunate that, as the tour schedule progressed, that I was not able to recover in condition as easily compared to how I was on the first show.

On this tour’s VCR <LOONA GOT TALENT> the members showed their variety show skills. If you were to become a variety show director, what variety show would you film with the members?

While watching the VCR I felt that I don’t have a knack for variety… So rather than a variety show that looks for fun, I’d like to shoot a variety show that’s for healing. For example, going on a trip and doing mukbangs, or a variety where you do activities that offer experiences!

What do you think are the charms of both the solo performance that you showed at the beginning of your debut, and the solo that you showed once again?

Honestly it has been such a long time since I had last done a solo stage so I think I was as nervous as I was early in my debut. In fact maybe I got more nervous, thinking that I had to show improvements… Regarding the charm of each, looks-wise, the big difference between blonde and black hair! Mm… At my debut you could say I just held a tough-looking gaze that tried to fit the image of the song, but this stage feels more like, “yeah that’s right, this is my song, heh.” (laugh)

If you were to plan a concert, is there a song that you’d like to include?

My self-written song <Oh-light> which I wrote while imagining Orbits singing along at concerts, and <Where you at> which I really want to do with Orbits singing along.

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

Actually experiencing the overseas tour that I had been imagining, it really felt like a dream, and even now, after the encore concert has ended, it feels like a dream. 2-3 months can feel like a long or short period of time, but in that time I received once-in-a-lifetime experiences and lots of love. If I had imagined a overseas tour to be like a “dream” then clearly I’ve achieved the dream, and there were emotions and learnings that I couldn’t have felt without going through it in person. Perhaps it will be a memory that I’ll never forget!

Yves

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

I worried about whether we really would be able to fill all the seats but I was so thankful for the Orbits abroad who filled the venues. Around when the tour was ending, I was happy because I was able to feel more relaxed and get a nice-feeling excitement onstage more than nervousness.

However, maintaining my condition was difficult, so I’m sorry for not being able to end all the performances in peak condition.

Was there anything from the tour that you think would be worthwhile to share with Orbits?

Although it was a schedule that honestly really exceeded the limits of my stamina, all the little moments and sharing the ups and downs with the members in the hotel rooms or tour buses were fun and gave me strength.

Throughout the tour you did full group performances, then in the Seoul concert you did solo stages, and that seemed like it would’ve felt different. What are your thoughts, after finishing your solo stage?

It was my first solo stage in a long time, and I did have a desire to show Orbits a little more improved self. So I participated in all aspects like stage composition, outfits, rearrangement ideas, and choreography. As a result, I got to craft the stage that I wanted, which was really fun, and I was proud of that.

Were there any stages that you wanted to perform this tour?

I think LOONA has a ton of great B-sides, so I wanted to try songs like <Where you at> or <Hide and Seek>.

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

I never get used to the end, and it always subverts my imagination so unlike how I had thought it would be, it was sadder and left me wanting. I thought the overwhelming and proud emotions would be bigger, but wrapping up the overseas tour, the saddest thing was that we had to say farewell to Orbits abroad once again.

Go Won

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

I was satisfied by us doing performances by becoming one with Orbits!

Breaking my in-ear monitors two whole times kept bothering me…

Were there any memorable moments from the tour?

In reality backstage is extremely busy, but then going onstage looking as if nothing happened..?

During the tour you did group performances, then in the Seoul concert you did solo stages. Your thoughts on that?

I was reminded of when I debuted, and I wanted to show myself with more improvements. But after having stood onstage with the members, I got very nervous being on stage alone. But! Thanks to Orbits I got over my nerves and happily did my performance ❤️

Were there any unforgettable things like events from Orbits that you saw during the tour?

There were a lot of people who dressed the same way we had done before which was fascinating, and it was touching how they shouted our names during the encore and did a slogan event for us.

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

The concert venue filled with the lights from the lightsticks was vastly prettier than I had imagined.

Olivia Hye

LOONA’s first overseas tour has successfully come to a close. Were there things about the tour that you were satisfied by, or things that could’ve been better?

Something I was satisfied by was the fans’ singing along!

One unfortunate thing was not being able to take part in all the stages.

Having shown your solo stage for the first time in a while, I think you would’ve felt that you’ve improved compared to yourself in the past.

I felt that I had improved in every aspect. My mindset has gotten a lot better.

Was there any fun moment that you think would be worthwhile to share with Orbits?

I want to share the atmosphere of the venue, and the sense of being there.

You said that you kept laughing when practicing the duet part of your solo performance with Jinsoul, but onstage, it felt totally unlike that, you seemed deeply absorbed. Do you have your own secret methods for mental control?

I obviously can’t laugh. (Laugh) Because I’m a pro. (^^)

Was the “finale” of your first overseas tour similar to how you had envisioned it?

It was as I had expected.
