With members of the girl group LOONA, Jeon Heejin, Kim Jungeun (Kim Lip), Jeong Jinsol, and Choi Yerim (Choerry) having signed exclusive contracts with Modhaus, attention is being drawn to their future actions. On the other hand, Blockberry, which had an exclusive contract dispute with these members, seems to be protesting.

On the 17th, the agency Modhaus revealed, “We signed an exclusive contract with former LOONA members Jeon Heejin, Kim Jungeun, Jung Jinsol, and Choi Yerim. Modhaus wishes them all the best of luck on their new beginnings, and we promise to give them our full support so that they can create more cherished memories with their fans.”

LOONA previously debuted as a 12-member group in 2018. However, last year, member Chuu was in a dispute with Blockberry over her settlement. Other members also applied for an injunction against Blockberry Creative to suspend their exclusive contracts.

Among them, Jeon Heejin, Kim Jungeun, Jeong Jinsol, and Choi Yerim received a ruling that suspended their contracts.

In response, an official told Star News, “This contract could herald a serious conflict in the future with Blockberry, with whom they have had previous dispute,” which foreshadows repercussions.

According to the official’s explanation, these four members, irrespective of the outcome of the injunction lawsuit, had an exclusive contract with Universal Japan when the new contracts were signed. Hence, legal disputes are unavoidable. There are rumours that Blockberry and Universal Japan began to assess the situation and held talks on future moves after this report.

All members of LOONA have had or are currently in legal proceedings to cancel their contract with Blockberry. Member Chuu was the only one who both won her injunction lawsuit and is in a civil lawsuit to determine the non-existence of exclusive contract effect, and is also currently awaiting the mediation date, due to the court’s mediation process.
