Breaking new ground — ARTMS Interview São Paulo, September 30, 2024. If like us, you still haven’t recovered from the ARTMS concert, you should know that they were very much looking forward to this event in Brazil. How do we know? They had a chat with HIT! just before coming to the country. During the conversation, they talked about important moments in their career, their return as ARTMS, and their expectations for the concert here. Check out this exclusive interview now. Time HIT!: “Dall” is an album full of songs of different styles and genres. Considering the group’s lore, what connects all these tracks on this album? HEEJIN : The last song, “ Birth ”, has a special meaning. By placing “ Birth ”, which symbolizes a new beginning, as the final track, it creates a cycle that brings the listener back to the intro, making the album seem like an endless journey. You can interpret the album as a continuous journey with no end. Time HIT!: In an interview with NME, you mentioned that you now have more freedom in making decisions about the group’s projects, from choosing the title track to the photos for the album. In what ways were the members able to collaborate in the creation of “Dall”? HEEJIN : The biggest factor was direct communication with our CEO. In addition, we held meetings among the members and kept in constant contact by messaging to share our thoughts and opinions. We exchanged ideas among ourselves and then passed them on to the company. Fortunately, the company was very receptive to our suggestions, which allowed for a smooth and effective collaboration. Time HIT!: What were the criteria for selecting the concepts for the album’s pre-release tracks? HEEJIN : We considered a variety of genres for the album. Music is very personal, so we thought a lot about what aspects our fans would like to see from us, which broadened the spectrum. I remember fans found it very difficult to vote because the pre-released tracks had such different vibes. Each song offered something unique, and that made it exciting and challenging for everyone involved. Time HIT!: “Birth”, “Flower Rhythm”, “Candy Crush”, and “Air” have very different lyrics and visuals. What is the process of transforming the message of the lyrics into the MVs? JINSOUL : For “ Birth ”, the music video was created based on fan votes via Gravity, which made it even more special as it marks the beginning of ARTMS . We worked hard to incorporate lyrics and world-building that align with the concept. The other three MVs were recorded in one day, and we tried to combine the different concepts with the songs, allowing us to show a wide variety of styles and moods, all aligned with the overall narrative of the album. Time HIT!: Regarding the MV for “Birth”, among the images, there are several dark illustrations worthy of a Tim Burton movie. What is the message behind this track? JINSOUL : Because it’s a short track, it can be challenging to express everything visually in an MV. However, we conveyed the story well through powerful and symbolic illustrations. I hope the message we tried to convey was clearly understood by everyone! Time HIT!: During the group’s appearance on the “큐레이터 (Curator)” channel, you defined the album’s title track, “Virtual Angel”, as a song about a girl whose heart was closed until she found her first love. With this definition in mind, what reasons opened the members’ hearts for this comeback as ARTMS? JINSOUL : I think there was great excitement and anticipation at the thought of starting again. Of course, there were concerns, but we were able to open our hearts because we trusted the fans who had waited for us. Time HIT!: The track “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” featured G-High, who you worked with on LOONA’s “Butterfly”. What were the group’s impressions when listening to this song? HEEJIN : As G-High was the person who helped us shape LOONA ’s musical style, we had high expectations. When I heard “ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy ”, I had a feeling of nostalgia. I could clearly visualize the performance of “ Butterfly ” at the time. As I listened to the song, I immediately thought: “This is definitely an ARTMS track.” Time HIT!: As part of this project, in addition to ODD EYE CIRCLE’s comeback, HEEJIN has released a mini-album. When can we expect solo projects from the other members? JINSOUL : There are no concrete plans for solo projects at the moment, but we’re all full of passion and desire to do them, so I think it’s something we can definitely try in the future! If our fans keep waiting for us, I’ll be more than happy to make it happen. Time HIT!: In relation to ODD EYE CIRCLE’s “Vision Up” album, a tripleS member, Sohyun, wrote one of the tracks. How is your relationship with the tripleS members? CHOERRY : As colleagues in the company, we want to support and look after each other, even if we don’t meet often due to our busy schedules. I hope that, in the future, we can become close enough to talk comfortably whenever any difficulties arise. I also think we can grow together as artists by collaborating on musical projects and supporting each other along the way. Team HIT!: The CEO of MODHAUS has promised to give you luxury bags as gifts when you get your first win. What gift would ARTMS like to give the fans after winning this award? CHOERRY : As much as I would love to give the fans whatever they want, I think the best gift would be a fan song dedicated to the OURIIs . I think that would be something they would love and be grateful for. Time HIT!: Among the strategies proposed by the ARTMS CEO, one of the best known is to think of content that can go viral on the internet. Do you often see the memes generated by fans? CHOERRY : I watch fan-made memes and videos quite often. I make a point of checking out reaction videos and challenges made by them, and they give me energy and confidence. Sometimes, when I see feedback or videos from them, new ideas come to my mind too! Time HIT!: It’s a tradition for the members to travel after the album promotions. However, if someone drops out, they must cover the costs. Has that ever happened before? CHOERRY : There hasn’t been a situation where someone has missed the trip, but we have a rule that if someone is late, they have to pay a fine. When we go on a trip after this promotion, I’ll keep an eye out to see if anyone is missing! Time HIT!: What was your most memorable trip? KIM LIP : Rather than a vacation, it was a trip to an appointment, Greece was the most memorable for me. The recording was one of the most difficult, but that made it even more unforgettable. Greece was a country I had always wanted to visit, and it was so beautiful that I was often trying to capture everything with my eyes. I also remember taking happy pictures with the members by the sea. It was an experience filled with joy! Time HIT!: If you were planning a trip to Brazil, what places would you like to visit and what would you like to do? KIM LIP : In the lives, fans have always asked me to go to Brazil, and now that we’re finally going, I’m very excited! I love visiting the beaches of other countries, and I’ve heard a lot about the beauty of Brazil’s beaches. I’d love to visit Ipanema beach and also see the huge Christ the Redeemer with my own eyes. I’m looking forward to taking some great photos and making some incredible memories! Team HIT!: Although you’ve been through turbulent times in the past, your fans have always been there for you. How did it feel to receive this support during a difficult time? KIM LIP : I think it’s thanks to the support of our fans that we were able to get up on stage and sing today. Even in difficult times, I endured everything for them, who loved me and waited for me. I wanted to show them that I could overcome these challenges and rise again. Now, being able to debut again, I feel like I’m giving back to the fans who said they gained strength and positive energy because of me. I’m truly grateful for their constant support and encouragement. Team HIT!: You have a very strong relationship with your international fans. What are your expectations for reuniting with them as ARTMS? HASEUL : As we start our first world tour as ARTMS , one thing we’ve noticed is that there are a lot of fans who have supported us for a long time, even before ARTMS . That’s one of the reasons we decided to include LOONA songs in our setlist. Whenever the fans sing those songs with us, it’s very emotional for us. Time HIT!: Talking about international fans, what can Brazilian OURIIs expect from your first performance in the country? HASEUL : When I think of Brazil, I immediately think of passion, so I think the overall energy of the show will be incredibly high. As it’s the first time visiting Brazil for all of us, we’re a bit nervous, but we’re sure it will be a lot of fun! Team HIT!: Can you send a message to Brazilian OURIIs? HASEUL : To our Brazilian OURIIs ! Thank you so much for waiting for us for so long. In this concert, we will bring all our passion and love. We promise to take the emotions and energy we felt that day with us forever! INDIVIDUAL QUESTIONS Team HIT!: HEEJIN, in the video where the group interviews the CEO of the company, Jaden Jeong, you mentioned that you should write a book called “Idol Essentials”, about the essential characteristics that an idol should have. If you were to write an autobiography, what moments in your story couldn’t be left out? HEEJIN : In the video where I mentioned writing a book called “Idol Essentials”, I think the most crucial moments that can’t be left out are those from my time as a trainee. After the debut, personal growth can become limited as we focus on our group activities. We sometimes joke that the foundation of a trainee carries through to the debut. If I could go back in time, I would prepare even more during that time as a trainee. I encourage everyone to cherish those moments, even if they are challenging. It’s like a nostalgic memory of school! Time HIT!: HASEUL, in October 2023, you had your first solo performance at “Music Studio 81.8Hz”. How was the experience of performing these shows for four consecutive days? HASEUL : In October 2023, I performed my first solo show, “ Music Studio 81.8Hz ”. Performing for four consecutive days was physically challenging, but as the shows went on, I realized that it became more fun and even my condition improved. I also noticed a big difference in how I connected with the fans during my solo show compared to those with ARTMS . It was a very unique experience, and I learned a lot from it. Time HIT!: KIM LIP, you’ve mentioned before that there are several old tracks that have never been released. When will fans get the chance to hear them? KIM LIP : It’s hard to say exactly when fans will get the chance to hear these unreleased tracks, but we always try to come back with amazing albums. I hope these songs find their perfect place in our future releases. If you keep following ARTMS and our albums closely, the day may come when you can hear them! Please continue to support and love us! Time HIT!: CHOERRY, in the MV for “Birth”, there’s a scene where you represent a seed that soon blossoms. What role do you play in the rebirth of this phase of the group’s career? CHOERRY : In the music video for “ Birth ”, I felt that I was reborn not as the CHOERRY of LOONA , but as the CHOERRY of ARTMS . With so many changes, I believe that in this new phase of our journey, I give my older members a lot of hope and energy as I blossom in this new role. Time HIT!: JINSOUL, despite doing an excellent job as a rapper, you cried when you made your debut in this role. What lessons did you learn from that episode and what advice can you give to anyone going through a similar situation? JINSOUL : Through this experience, I realized how passionate I was about singing at the time. Thanks to this motivation, I got good parts in both rap and vocals. Although I still feel I have flaws in rap, I’ve developed a mindset where I’ve learned to enjoy it too. I want to inspire others not to feel discouraged by their limitations. It must have felt quite different for you last May when you debuted as a solo artist, rather than a LOONA member. I wanted to come out with something that people didn’t expect. During LOONA I emphasized girl crush and the cool side of me like I’m someone’s older sister, but now I wanted to show some of the other colors that I have in me. So I was bold and threw out the hip-hop dance genre that I was the best at. For the solo debut song, I tried a different genre and challenged myself a lot. You’re now about four months into your solo activities. Have you found Yves’ unique color? I think that’s honesty. My company has lots of skilled producers and artists, so I’ve had honest conversations about music and I’m trying to put a lot of my own stories into it. And I think the fans really like that element as well. I’m grateful that the company seems to be expressing my colors into each genre very well, and that makes me feel good. Also curious why you challenged yourself in a new genre, even to the point of abandoning hip-hop which you were best at. I wanted to show something that wasn’t obvious. I wanted to flip the expectation that ‘Of course Yves would come with something handsome.’ I’m the type to enjoy challenges and adventures, not fear them. Fortunately the company and I thought in the same direction. I’m going to keep my music career going for a long time, so I wanted to gradually show diverse sides of myself. So that’s why I thought ‘For my debut track, let’s show something that’s entirely opposite from what the public and fans expect.’ Then is there another new genre that you’d like to attempt? Tons, but for one, I’ve been going to festivals recently and the refreshing rock-genre songs that are well-suited seem to get good reactions. I want to try a lot of rock as festival-geared music and I want to try rap too. CEO-nim asked me, ‘Can you rap?’ And I wasn’t confident so I said ‘I can’t yet,’ but I want to practice hard and show off some cool rapping too. The conflict with your former agency must have been difficult. Please tell us about the motivation that helped you decide on a solo debut. We didn’t stop being LOONA out of our own volition, but it was a sudden stop in the circumstances, right. It felt like such a shame about the dreams I hadn’t achieved. And I felt most guilty to the fans who waited and anticipated. With all the fans waiting, I felt that I had to come back no matter what and repay them no matter how long it took, so I worked hard to find a company and really honed myself for debut preparations. Guessing that you get along well with your current agency, then. To be honest, the fans were confused. They were quite worried because I picked such an unexpected genre of a company. And I did sign the contract, but it wasn’t without worry for me, either. But just like anything, in a new environment you have to compromise with each other, so we had a lot of conversations. Musically, systematically, we are communicating with mutual care. Do you miss the LOONA days of working together with all 12 members? I’d be lying if I said that I don’t miss it. The fans want to see the full group of LOONA, too. We also promised each other, ‘Someday let’s make sure to show them the full group!’ Right now you might feel unsatisfied, but just like how the LOONA system used to work in the early days, I think what we’re doing right now is making the group shine from where each of us are, as units and solos. So that’s why I’m working even harder, to help let the group be known a little more. Do you have plans for this Chuseok? Every holiday, I go back to my family home in Busan and spend ordinary but precious days with family. Around this time of year, I feel energized from the thought of going home. I’m planning to go back again this year, making food together and cleaning the house and having a fun time. Any food that you think of or enjoy on Chuseok? I like jeon and tempura. One thing that shocked me when I was living in the dorm during LOONA days was that apparently nobody from the other regions had tried fried filefish. I was the only member from Busan, so it was quite a shock. Also my family makes great marinated crab, so I want to have that marinated crab and freshly fried filefish right next to where it’s made. A wish you’d like to make to the Chuseok full moon? My first wish is for my family and people around me to all be happy and healthy. And a special wish to add this year is, since I’ve debuted solo, even though things won’t always be happy, I’ll be praying for the strength to get back up even when something tough happens. What is ‘happiness’ to Yves? Peacefulness and lack of trouble. I’m a bit sensitive, so even a small change or trouble causes my emotions to fluctuate a lot. Whenever that happens, I realize, ‘Lack of trouble is happiness,’ ‘A humble routine is happiness.’ What kind of music would you like to do in the future as a singer? Just like my diary, I want to authentically express the despair and happiness and things that I feel in diverse genres, so that people can pick out the music that fits their emotion of the day and I can give them comfort that way. Tell us about your plans for what little of 2024 that remains. It’s more of my wishlist than my plans. I put out my pre-release single last month, and I want to prepare diligently for my new album and get through my promotions well without trouble, and if possible, I want to meet my international fans towards the end of this year. It’s been so long since I’ve seen the fans abroad. I want to show them, ‘I’m doing well in my solo activities.’ Do you have an achievement or goal that you’re aiming to accomplish after the new album’s release? I look up a lot of Internet comments and reactions. Even when there’s something negative from time to time, I think of that as attention. Unless it’s just blind criticism, I take it as feedback. If something feels disagreeable to you, conversely I think that means it’s also something new and fresh, so I’d like to continue trying fresh challenges and adventures without being afraid of feedback like that. Lastly, a word for your fans. The fans waited for a long time, and I’m so happy to be increasingly doing more activities with you starting with the solo debut. And I’m also very grateful that you didn’t leave me in the meantime. I’ll show you more growth and cool sides of me in the future, so I hope you won’t get distracted elsewhere and stay by my side for a long time to come. I love you. ( Source )

“A wish for Chuseok? That fans and I will always be together. So that they won’t run away, is what I’ll secretly wish to the full moon. Then the fans loving me forever - I’m dreaming up a happy ending like that.” (Laughs) Looking into Yves’ large and sparkling eyes, even the busy Chuseok full moon would be unable to refuse granting her wish. We met with Yves, who has stepped out alone as a soloist after her time in LOONA. Standing in front of the camera in pink hanbok attire before Chuseok, she smiled brightly and said “Wearing hanbok after so long makes it feel even more special, and somehow like a new beginning too.” It’s already her seventh Hangawi festivities since debuting in October 2017. Yves shared her thoughts on welcoming Chuseok: “No matter how busy the schedule, I always kept the holidays.” She glowed as she said “I came to Seoul at age twenty, and when the holidays come around, the thought of going back to my family home (in Busan) and seeing them energizes me.” We were curious about the Chuseok scenes at Yves’ home, with two sisters one year apart. She smiled as she said “We cook for the ancestral memorial with Mom, and just like an annual event, we do a deep cleaning over the holidays. My sister and I clean neatly and well, tactfully.” Regarding her close relationship with her sister, she expressed both gratitude and guilt as she said “We fought so much that we were breaking glass when we were little, but being just a year apart, we’ve grown closer as we’ve gotten older, and we try to take care of each other.” Before and after Yves’ debut as a singer, her family scenes have gotten quite different. “My family used to be really quiet, but after my debut, I’ve gotten more active and shameless, so when we all get together for the holidays, we’ve been playing games or I’ve been playing MC. I think the family atmosphere has gotten even better and more fun.” Her Chuseok plan is “to have ordinary days”. Yves smiled, saying “It might seem like a mundane and uneventful routine, but I don’t often get to be with family, so this is a really valuable time for me.” 2024 will be a specially remembered year for Yves. After LOONA’s activities practically came to an end after lengthy troubles early last year, the twelve girls entered new activities separately and together, each with their visions and goals. After preparing for a solo debut, Yves announced her second beginning in May with her first EP under her own name, Loop. It was the fruit of a long wait for both her and the fans. “Until the solo debut, every single day was a nerve-wracking affair. I was very worried about how the public and fans would react, whether I could pull it off well. But after the debut, I’ve actually felt more at ease. I was able to perform with more confidence while feeling gratitude that “The fans love any side of me.” Yves’ competitiveness and passion are second to no one. She confessed that early in her debut, she sometimes gnawed at herself through comparison with others. Saying that “I definitely have some unique strengths that others don’t have, but at some points in the past I was unable to see that, and only saw the flaws. In some moments I practiced hard and drove myself, but my heart was still struggling,” she continued firmly, “Now, I’m applying myself in a direction that will make me grow further.” Regarding the members’ vibrant activities, Yves said that “They are doing their best to make our team shine more from where they are now, and I’m also working to show more growth.” Her goal right now is “Creating a pretty portfolio that contains my unique sensibilities.” “When time has passed and I look back on my portfolio, I want to be able to think, ‘That’s so pretty, I want to look back on that,’ and I want to leave that kind of record that I won’t regret. Just like how you can only know the true meaning of happiness after experiencing all kinds of emotions, I want to infuse those things into an album.” Towards the end of the interview, Yves introduced her special wish that she’ll make to the Chuseok full moon and added an ambitious dream. “I’ve joked with the fans like, ‘When we’re old and 100 years old, let’s still be holding dinner shows.’ I really want something like that to come true. Hello. This is CTD E&M. We released Loossemble 3rd Mini Album [TTYL] on September 2, 2024. Many fans have made complaints about some pages in the photo book, one of the album's components. Upon checking, we found an aesthetic problem where in some wild cuts, the artist's portrait is folded across if the photo book is not fully unfolded. We apologise for not paying more attention to the design process, and we will be careful not to repeat similar issues in future album design. In addition, we would like to send the images which had the wild cut folding issue, in the form of postcards to the fans who purchased the album. I have no sense of direction in real life too, and it's been all kinds of a mess as I fall off cliffs and circle the same spot because I can't find my way I started to wonder if I wasted money on this, thought "Agh I should give it up" and turned off the Nintendo and it was 3 AM Guess I'd been enjoying it quite a bit....;;;;;;; The pic might be a bit gross ; I've fallen for avocado lately... Q. What was most difficult or required the most care as you prepared this album? “We put a lot of care into the choreography. We focused on the ability to express choreography and gestures, as well as the things that we wanted to impart, and because the song is upbeat and addictive, we wanted to deliver our energy to the fans so we wanted this to have that much more energy. So we generally increased our choreo practice time by a lot, and practiced and put a lot of care into the stage presence and teamwork aspects as well.” (Hyunjin) Q. The members participated in lyric-writing for this album as well. Apart from that, did you also voice opinions on the conceptual side? “In the past two albums, a lot of our visions and colors were reflected. This time around, it was wholly Ryan Jhun producer-nim’s vision that went into it. We honestly needed that kind of challenge a bit, and we have faith in producer-nim, so we followed and trusted in what he said. I think what we participated in this time was more focused around lyric-writing and maintaining our own selves well.” (Hyeju) Q. The unit songs are noticeable. The units are structured into “Confessions” (Hyunjin, Go Won, Yeojin) and “Cotton Candy” (Hyeju, Vivi, Yeojin). And Yeojin, in particular, was part of both. “That’s also my question. Why did I get into two songs like that?” (Yeojin) “I think it relates back to Loona. Back then Yeojin didn’t have a unit. Looking back, how has the past year been? “On the one hand I think “I’ve lived busily”, and even more so that “I spent it fruitfully”. We debuted and had a comeback and went on tour in between, too. I worked really hard and can honestly say that I filled up the whole year with diligent work, so this year feels really precious to me.” (Yeojin) Q. Does it feel very different from the first Loona anniversary? “Very different. It has been a long while since then, and this past year we did even more activities than that year, so we were able to grow rapidly. And with fewer members, each of us have bigger roles, so it’s an environment where you can’t help but grow more quickly. I think this past year was one that allowed us to take more responsibility in all aspects and to grow.” (Hyeju) Q. It feels like the leader Hyunjin, who played a key role in the re-formation of Loossemble, would have special feelings about this. “I feel some pressure but it’s the good kind of pressure, so I’ve been living happily these days. What are some pros and cons of having a leader like you do now? “I think there’s a lot. Like distributing the script lines? Also since she’s the leader, when she says “Assemble”, we assemble right away. She gets sad when we don’t listen to the leader well. When we don’t listen, it’s not like “Why won’t you listen to me,” but it feels like “Please listen to me” instead. (Laughs) So she’s kind of adorable.” (Yeojin) “There’s pros and cons (to being leader). When we distribute the script lines, I get dibs on the comments that I want to say. I take short lines and give out a lot to the members. If I had to name a downside, the members sometimes make fun of me. (Laughs)” (Hyunjin) “Honestly I make fun of her a lot. It’s so fun when I tease unnie. Because you have to tease the person who’s entertaining to watch, right? She has the funniest reactions.” (Yeojin) “As Hyunjin’s become the leader, I’ve gotten to see new sides of her, and since we’ve been together for a long time, it feels really new even just to select one person as the leader like this as we start over. And since we’re a team, sometimes it’s necessary for someone to come up with a suggestion and talk it out, and Hyunjin has been doing that really well, so I think that makes the team work well.” (Vivi) “I have a wholesome story about Hyunjin unnie recently. Hyeju unnie was briefly sick so she went home first, and the rest of us were sitting in the practice room, and Hyunjin unnie suddenly went, ‘There’s a way for us to synchronize our choreography a bit more,’ and she started teaching us fundamentals. She taught us a lot, like ‘This way you can dance a little better.’ I really felt her leader’s side at that moment.” (Yeojin) Q. So that’s why I think I get really nervous when I perform every time. Because that’s how precious and important the performance is to me. So the members tell me all the time, ‘Why are you so nervous, why are you sweating so much?’ Every moment, the stage is so important. So I always want to thank the members, but I’m really shy so I can’t really say thanks. This is embarrassing but I want to take this occasion to thank them, and I want this album to do really well, and for us to be strong.” (Hyunjin) “Debuting as Loossemble felt like one of the turning points in my life. I am a foreigner so I actually had a lot to think about during that time, but thanks to this good opportunity I was able to start over as Loossemble. Loossemble taught me a bit about myself as well and I loved that.” (Vivi) Q. We heard that prior to re-debuting as Loossemble, Hyeju debated closing out the dream of being a singer. Have you thought about what it would have been like if you really quit at that time? “Even if I were to go back, I would make the same decision. I would choose the challenge of being Loossemble and returning to the stage once more. Nothing would change even if I went back, and these current members are a collection of such different personalities and different tendencies that I’m sometimes really fascinated. Seeing us flow on without any big troubles, I think we’re looking out for each other a lot and doing pretty well. (Hyeju) Q. You must hold special feelings for the fans as well. Do you feel anything has changed with the fans compared to the Loona activity days? “I think I feel more emotional about the fans. After the whole incident during the Loona times, as I re-debuted as Loossemble, the fans said a lot along the lines of ‘I thought I’d never see you again.’ So I think we’ve grown more intimate with them.” (Yeojin) Q. What do you think has changed about yourselves, the members? “As we’ve gotten older and more experienced, a lot of things that were difficult and hard to understand have become comprehensible, because we experienced those things. And we’ve become more able to participate in lyric-writing, more able to express our ideas about albums, and grown as artists. As people, too, as we went through the hard times, the wounds have lost sting and we’ve learned how to get back up. How to get through difficult times, how to destress, we’re learning those remedies one by one.” (Hyeju) Q. It feels like you and ARTMS, a group also originating from Loona, might inspire each other too. Do you keep in frequent contact? “I contact Choerry unnie pretty frequently. Almost every day, I think. Unnie is on tour right now, you know. But she’s still good about texting back and we’re telling each other to come over to our homes. Recently ARTMS held a concert and I went to see them. They played Loona songs there and I danced in the stands, and the unnies also said ‘Yeojin let’s dance together’ from the stage so I really enjoyed that concert. I don’t think anything has changed between us. We’re like family, you could say.” (Yeojin) “We understand so well about how each other was feeling as we were all starting over, so we feel a lot of camaraderie. And sometimes they inspire me a lot. Inevitably we are different groups now, so that gives us a nice kind of stimulation and it makes us want to show some new things or our improved selves.” (Hyeju) Q. You’re all busy working in your respective arenas, but it feels like there must be a world where you all get back together someday. “We are always open to it and the other members are always open too. It’s just that right now everyone is in the phase of starting over, so we’re focusing on that a bit more, and once we have each grown some more and the right timing has arrived, that’s when we’re wanting to meet the fans all together as one.” (Hyeju) “I want to do that within a few years. And I’m curious, too. Once we have grown within each team and met again, how much cooler are we going to be by then.” (Yeojin) Q. How do you want Loossemble to be remembered as a group? “Honestly Loossemble is more unfamiliar to the general public than Loona, so I want this promotion to help reach the public with ‘There is such a group called Loossemble.’” (Yeojin) Q. When the general public sees you, which feels better to you? Not recognizing Loona right away and realizing “Loossemble was from Loona?”, or recognizing the fact that Loona members are now promoting in these ways? “Personally I want them to learn about Loossemble first. We are a team starting over, after all, so once they learn about our unique charms and begin to like Loossemble, honestly there is going to be way too much information about us. Once they get into us, there’s a lot of information and a lot to see, so I want them to first fall for Loossemble’s charms, and I want to make Loossemble become more known. And honestly Loona and Loossemble have different musical styles and group colors, so in my opinion our charms are different.” (Hyeju) Q. When you have no schedules, do the members hang out together often? “We have a lot of introverted members, so we spend a lot of time at home.” (Go Won) “I have a dog, so I always spend time at home no matter what. Doing nothing and spending time with my dog. Because I just came home from working outside, so going outside again is too tiring.” (Yeojin) “Honestly when we’re promoting, we have a lot of break times and long standby periods, so we have plenty of time to meet and chat then. We started talking and there was a bit of trouble, and the spark blew up kind of big, so we ended up taking some time to all gather around and have a talk.” (Hyeju) “Suddenly I got pulled into it too and I felt hurt and cried at home.” (Yeojin) “After we poured out so much of what was on our hearts, after taking that time, I think we became able to speak more easily. We fought that time and made up that same day. We don’t really hold grudges like that.” (Hyeju) Q. When you rest, how do you find comfort and destress? “This is our third album within a year, right. So we haven’t had very long breaks. So my way of resting is just staying home and doing nothing, and exercising helps me destress a lot too.” (Vivi) “My stress levels go down when I wash my hair. I shower at home and lie down still. When you lift your legs, that gets the blood circulating, right. Then I feel the stress going away. That’s how I control it a bit.” (Hyunjin) “Lately I’ve been building Nanoblocks. It requires a bit of creativity, and that actually allows me to have fun without thinking much. I just got into it.” (Go Won) “I have a dog and she’s so cute. She makes my stress go away. When she runs around the home instead of me and makes a mess, I clean up after her going ‘Sheesh.’ I’m the mom. The little one influences me so much, and I wish everyone would have a dog and do well by them. I also raise a lizard. His name is Gaeko.” (Yeojin) “I don’t have a ton of friends, so I honestly make plans like once a month if that? I like hanging out with my family, so I destress as I eat and chat with them. Since they are the people on my side who give me absolute support. They join in with me when I want to complain about somebody, and when I’m having a hard time they empathize with me and encourage me that I’m doing really well. I think hearing it from family gives me more strength than hearing it from anyone else.” (Hyeju) Q. Lastly, anything you want to add? “To be honest, recently I was going through a bad period mentally. It was so tough having to work on promotions when I’m going through this. And in the past, Hyeju unnie would have just said things curtly, but unnie was speaking to me softly, and I realized that made me feel a little better. I guess the members, Hyeju unnie, were really important to me. For example, even when we need to practice, Hyeju unnie doesn’t say much. But for this promotion, she would tell me, ‘Hey Yeojin, let’s go practice,’ and I would think, ‘This unnie is going through a lot too but she’s doing all this for me. I should work, too.’ Since it was mentally tough, I used to go home and cry. And when I got texted ‘Let’s gather at this time tomorrow’ I would reply ‘Yes’ and go back out. It’s gotten a lot better. Hyunjin unnie told me, ‘You are doing so well right now’, and Vivi unnie cries together with me. And I don’t know about Go Won unnie. The new song “Tik Tok” is about the fights and ennui that arise between lovers, laid out over a lively rhythm. If you focus on the lyrics, you feel upset like, “If I was the other person I would feel sad,” but if you listen to the overall song in a light way, it ironically feels upbeat, maybe because of the rhythm. Lil Cherry)” I showed off the appearance of a dreamy but refreshing young girl, while in “Tik Tok” there’s a more mature feel. The song’s atmosphere is like that, but also I practiced and improved a lot vocally, so I want to show you a more refined and flexible vocal and tone.
